WebJun 17, 2024 · The thesis further argues that green bonds represent a pressing regulatory challenge that must be addressed to prevent greenwashing, ensure the future of the green bond market, and ultimately safeguard green bonds´ potential role in reorienting capital flows towards a sustainable economy. 1 WebGreen bond is a rather new financial instrument that aims towards more sustainable use of pro-ceeds. In this thesis, I examine the stock market reaction a green bond issuance creates by using a data sample from 2013 to March 2024 consisting of 154 US corporate green bonds from 44 companies and 7 different industries.
